Thursday nights used to have some great TV. When I was very young, Thursday nights were all about the story of the Waltons, a 1930s famliy living on Walton's Mountain in the hills of Virginia. They were all about family and doing the right thing. They worked hard. While they might not have much in the way of material things, they were happy to be together.
I wish we had more shows like this today. We need more goodness like this in the world.
Every episode ended with some version of "goodnights" between the family members. Like this:
And a whole generation of us copied that one as we went to bed at night. Peace and happiness.
