Almost my home

When we bought our property and first thought about building, this is the plan we handed to our builder.  Charming isn't it?  Almost like a house from Mary Poppins or something.  I loved the porch.  I loved the "bumped out" windows.  I loved the space.  Go ahead and take a look at the floorplan here

I did not however love the builder's off-hand estimate of what it would cost us to build.  Huge sticker shock!

In the end we found a plan that had a similar look, a wrap around porch , a walkout basement and nowhere near so many costly corners.  But I still love looking at this house.  Just gorgeous.
