Hahaha--not really.  But that's how one of my childhood songs starts off.  My dad always loved the songs that told a story.  And Johnny Horton told some good ones.

I heard this one the other day in the car on the way to a movie with my daughter.  I sang along and she didn't object.  She knows good music when she hears it. . .or at least she knows not to interrupt on of her mama's "memories" kind of moments.

So here it is, just for you "The Battle of New Orleans"  I am partial to this video because it's Johnny Horton, not someone putting pictures of their own (ahem, the internet) to his song :-)
